” For once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return” – Leonardo da Vinci.

My happiness had no bound when I got selected for the regional round of 14th Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition 2018. My excitement was of no limit when I heard that the moot is going to be held in Tehran, the capital of Iran. I was very happy about the visit to Tehran because it was both my first moot and flight. ” For me, the fear of my first flight itself was very exciting. My first purposeful flight through the skies was a miraculous one that I will remember forever. The view of the beauty of the world from above is one memory that only the experience of flying can provide.
It was in December 2nd of 2018 that I had my first flight. I was just happy with everything; may it be check-in, may it be waiting for hours for the flight or may it be the journey of flight itself. Finally, after 13 hours, I reached Tehran and the headscarf alarm was alerted in my head. Then headscarf had been my ornament until I reached back to Doha, our transit.
After 2 hours of drive, I reached the hotel and the only thing I was waiting for was sleep. To my surprise, I couldn’t sleep that day and I couldn’t figure out why. Was it my excitement or tiredness? Then I was ready for lunch. I couldn’t explain the situation of vegetarian me. I had to say “NO MEAT” for even ordering the vegetarian items. Despite the difficulty in the food, I enjoyed each and everything. It was my first moot and first flight. The first ever mooting experience was just wow.
The best part was I could create a very good bond and friendship with the team members. The communication with the teams of South Asia and connection with them has become my greatest achievement. Still today when I look up towards the sky, I cherish every moment that I have spent during my visit to Tehran.
